Faith United Methodist Church
Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany January 30, 2022
Greetings and Announcements
*Call to Worship (inspired by Jeremiah 31:31 – 34 and John 12:20 – 33):
Leader: Each day is a gift from God.
People: Each moment is the opportunity to reach out in service to all creation.
Leader: Each day is a reminder of a new covenant,
People: not written on stone tablets easily broken,
but inscribed on our hearts with joy and hope.
Leader: Each day may we draw closer to God
People: who forgives us more than we can ever know.
*Hymn: # 397 (UMH) “I Need Thee Every Hour”
* Prayer of Confession, Assurance, and Pardon
Leader and People: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy upon us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.
Leader: Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in your eternal care.
Leader and People: Amen.
